In Nov 2020, Lizhao was awarded the BMI Film Scoring Scholarship at Berklee by Oscar-winning composer Ludwig Göransson (Black Panther, Tenet) at BMI Executive Vice President Mike Steinberg. This award was established through the generosity of BMI with the intent of recognizing and celebrating those senior students demonstrating the greatest potential for success in composing music for the visual media.

Lizhao is a media composer, producer, and arranger. She is passionate about working with everything visual - films, TV, commercial, games... and food. She has composed original scores for restored silent films (and conducted an orchestra performing the score live), for multiple short films, for web series, for indie games. She has also assisted another composer/arranger Terry Hsieh on his album production/concert arrangements for top artists in Asia such as Karen Mok 莫文蔚, Joanna Wang 王若琳, and A-lin.

Growing up in a classical musician’s family, Lizhao started her musical training at an early age. She has drawn influence from both classical and contemporary worlds to her composition, as well as ethnic references from her Bai heritage. She has also earned bachelor's degree from Berklee College of Music on Film Scoring and Contemporary Writing & Production.
